What is the difference between tempered and laminated glass? Why would I use one over the other?
Tempered glass is typically stronger and usually used for side glass pieces. When tempered glass breaks it is designed to shatter into hundreds of small pieces. Laminated glass is two pieces of glass put together with vinyl in the middle. This must be used for windshields because the glass will chip or crack, but because of the vinyl, it will not shatter making it safer.
